Some people know Mike Fuljenz as a writer. He’s contributed articles and columns to periodicals like Red Book, The Insider’s Guide to U.S. Coins, and Newsmax’s MoneyNews.com.

 

He’s authored four award-winning rare-coin books: Indian Gold Coins of the 20th Century, Type III Double Eagles 1877-1907: A Numismatic History and Analysis, Type II Double Eagles 1866-1876: A Numismatic History and Analysis, and The Collector’s Guide to $10 Indian Head Eagles: Indian Gold Coins of the 20th Century Volume One. But then many know Mike Fuljenz as the president of Universal Coin and Bullion, which he founded in 1994. He has also been a correspondent for local and national news affiliates, and his opinions regarding the business of rare coins and bullion are often sought by Fox Business News, NBC News, and Forbes.com.

 

Others, know Mike Fuljenz, as a tireless volunteer worker. He’s served on numerous boards of directors, including the Diocese of Beaumont Catholic School Board; the Beaumont Crime Stoppers; the Numismatic Literary Guild (NLG), and the Industry Council for Tangible Assets.

 

Mike Fuljenz has served in the capacity of educator where he has taught classes and seminars for the Numismatic Crime Information Center, or given keynote speeches at numismatic gatherings such as the Money Show of the Southwest in Houston, where he has spoken every year since 1999.

 

Mike is also a recipient of numerous awards. Due to his numerous published writings, community service work, and consumer protection activities, it has led to many local and national awards from organizations from Beaumont, Texas, where his business is located and by national groups as well. Most recently, he’s received the Beaumont Chamber of Commerce Business of the Month Award, the Diocese of Beaumont Catholic Charities Humanitarian Award, and the prestigious Clemy Award by the Numismatic Literary Guild. Last year, he received the Beaumont, Texas Police Corporate Award; the top Save Our Children Award; as well as several NLG “Best” awards for radio reporting, article writing, and television reporting. Fuljenz was also the “Breakfast with the Bishop” honoree, in recognition of his distinguished hard work on behalf of his community.

 

“I’m grateful for the recognition of my consumer protection and education efforts," says Fuljenz. "I've always tried to provide the public with must-know information so they can make informed decisions before they buy or sell rare coins or bullion coins.”

 

Despite all the hard work and recognition, Fuljenz, who’s perhaps best known as “America's Gold Expert,” has endured tough times like any other person. Michael Fuljenz was falsely implicated in a 2007 lawsuit against Universal Coin and Bullion involving the sale of rare gold, platinum and silver coins. The lawsuit was dismissed, and Michael Fuljenz was vindicated when he was appointed to the State Bar of Texas Advertising Review Committee.

 

But he doesn’t dwell on the few bumps he endured while on his road to success. Michael Fuljenz is committed to continue accomplishing what many peers in the rare coin and bullion industry have come to expect from him as an award-winning author, consumer advocate and America’s Gold Expert.
